– Our customers demand products of the highest quality and, given our history and distinguished brand, it’s clear to us that those products need to be both high quality and made in Sweden. That’s what Weland offers, says Andreas Ljungberg, CEO of Bäckfors-based FTG Forest.

FTG Forest is a company that provides forestry machinery for felling, transport, and refining, the perfect fit for anyone calls the forest their workplace. The company has been collaborating with Weland AB since 2000, and it is a partnership that has been highly successful.
– Initially, our collaboration was only on a small scale, but now Weland is our biggest supplier of steel and welded products, says Marie-Anne Moberg, Procurement Manager at FTG Forest.

Biggest in Sweden
Weland AB has split its operations into two separate parts. One focuses on sheet metal, whilst the other is geared towards development and the fabrication of things such as staircases, mezzanines, wheelchair ramps, walkways, and grating.

Lars Kennethsson, who is Sales Manager at Weland Sheet Metal, explains that the biggest segment for his business area is the heavy vehicles industry, which includes forestry machines, dumper trucks, and wheel loaders.
– In Sweden, we are by far and away the biggest player on the market in respect of sheet metal working, he says.

A supplier you can trust
The parts that FTG Forest purchases from Weland for its cranes and forestry machines are machined, welded, and essentially ready for painting when they are delivered. It is something that saves both time and money.

– Weland is a supplier that we can trust when it comes to quality, technical know-how, and deliveries, and provides service and support when we need it, says Moberg.

FTG Forest has extensive expertise in electronics and hydraulics.
– But our main focus is on welded constructions, and it’s here that we depend on working with a supplier who can provide us with a breadth of technologies that allows us to produce a competitive product, all without involving too many suppliers or having too many steps in our process, says Ljungberg (CEO).
